ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The students of DPS-Modern Indian School proudly organized and hosted the 7th edition of DPS-DQ Model United Nations (MUN), welcoming enthusiastic delegates from schools across Qatar. Over three days,participants engaged in thought-provoking debates, tackled pressing global issues, andexperienced the spirit of diplomacy firsthand.The conference provided students with a platform to voice opinions, exchange perspectives, and collaborate on solutions to challenges facing the international community. In the process, they honed critical skills such as negotiation, leadership,research, and public speaking—skills that extend far beyond the committee rooms.Events like DPS-DQ MUN are vital for cultivating global awareness and mutual respect among youth, preparing them to become empathetic and informed leaders of tomorrow.With the dedication of the executive team, teachers, and volunteers, the conference was executed seamlessly, creating an enriching and memorable experience that fostered both learning and lasting friendships.

ABOUT THE THEME

The DPS-DQ Model United Nations 2025 centered on the theme “Peace through Technology”, reflecting how innovation can bridge divides and safeguard global harmony. Across its committees, delegates engaged in dynamic debates that emphasized the dual role of technology—as both a challenge and a solution in conflict resolution.In the United Nations Security Council, delegates deliberated on post-war Sudanese recovery and maritime security in the Red Sea, underlining the geopolitical intricacies of peacebuilding.The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice examined corruption networks.

UN Women facilitated discussions on empowering female leadership.The General Assembly tackled cyberattacks, biowarfare, biopiracy, and responsible investments, highlighting the urgent need for global cooperation.The Human Rights Council evaluated AI surveillance and ethnic tensions.The Commission on Narcotic Drugs debated drug trafficking and militarization.WHO and UN SDG-16 explored AI-driven healthcare, antimicrobial resistance, displacement, and justice systems.
