As we begin the new academic year, I am reminded of the above paradoxical opening lines from ‘A Tale of Two Cities’ by Charles Dickens. These words correctly encapsulate the conflicting emotions that we have been experiencing during these unprecedented times.
The Covid-19 pandemic continues its rampage across the globe and is bound to hurl even more challenges at us in the days ahead. However, I am certain that we can all acknowledge the fact that we rallied through a difficult year and learned a lot from the entire experience. We learnt to appreciate the people around us and the importance of human connection.
