Art education plays a vital role in the holistic development of students by influencing their thought processes, values, and emotional expression. At DPS-MIS, creativity is recognized as an inborn quality. Our experienced art educators nurture this creativity through guided exploration, encouragement, and a structured, goal-oriented curriculum.
Art learning begins at the Pre-Primary level with identifying and exploring colours. As students move into the Primary grades, they develop foundational drawing skills, learn colour theory, experiment with various art materials, and practice colouring and blending techniques, laying a strong artistic foundation.
At the Secondary level, students refine their visual perception and technical abilities. The curriculum emphasizes perspective drawing and the creation of skillful 2D and 3D sketches and illustrations using a variety of pencil, colour, and painting techniques.
Art education culminates at the Senior-Secondary level, offering students a platform to showcase the skills and knowledge acquired over the years. Students gain a deeper understanding of essential art elements such as line, shape, light, texture, balance, harmony, contrast, rhythm, tone, emphasis, space, and colour.
The artistic talent of DPS-MIS students is proudly reflected in the posters, props, models, and installations designed for school exhibitions, annual events, and cultural fests—each creation showcasing imagination, innovation, and artistic excellence.
Aakaar at DPS Modern Indian School is a celebration of creativity and imagination. The fest gives students a platform to showcase their artistic talent through drawing, painting, crafts, and design.
